A distraught and suicidal women was rescued by St. Paul, Minnesota District Chief Conrad Ertz. Chief Ertz, along with other first responders, received a call for a women sitting on the edge of Robert Street Bridge. The distance to the Mississippi River below was upwards of 120 feet.
Police Officers initially engaged the women in conversation, but were not having the desired effect. That’s when Chief Ertz arrived. Realizing that the women had not noticed him, Chief Ertz made a courages split second decision that saved the women’s life. “What was going through my mind was I wanted this to end in a positive light so this individual had a second chance.” (Fox9.com)
