Raw Footage: Landslide in Sierra Leone – 300 Dead, 600 Missing

Sierra Leon – The Weather Channel is reporting that 300 are dead and as many as 600 people are missing after a massive landslide in Sierra Leon. The landslide occurred on early Monday morning, and consumed homes while people were sleeping.

The area had received considerable rain fall over the past few weeks. “According to weather.com meteorologists, the area has seen nearly 20 inches more rain than average over the last 30 days.”

As of this morning, rescue operation have begun with the use of heavy equipment. First responders, relatives, and friends have been frantically digging since Monday. The death toll is expected to rise. More than 3,000 people have been left homeless. Prayers for those affected by this tragedy.
